Following concerns raised by the residents of Melville regarding the future of the 27 Boxes development and specifically the rumour regarding it becoming a student residence, the MRA Committee met with Citiq (Oscar Wisniewski, Asset Manager responsible for the 27 Boxes development) and the new agent for 27 Boxes (Chris Hajec, Seeff Managing Director).
We can confirm based on commitments from Citiq:
- There are no plans to develop a student resident at 27 Boxes.
- Seeff has been appointed as the agent to work on a new improved tenant mix for the development to ensure the sustainability of the development (See Seeff’s letter to 27Boxes’ tenants)
From our discussions with Seeff, we can confirm that the owners of 27 Boxes may need to apply for an extension on their lease and may also need to get clarification on their zoning rights. We have agreed to work with Seeff to explore residents’ views and expectations of the development going forward and are keen for your input on the below survey.
